Welcome and thanks for visiting my website. As the elected president of the United Teachers of Dade, my ultimate goal is to unite all stakeholders to ensure that all students receive the highest quality education to lead productive lives. This goal is only attainable with a systematic approach to retain qualified Educators as well as Education Support Professionals through initiatives that employ equitable and fair practices. While my time spent as a teacher in the classroom of Miami-Dade County schools has been fulfilling, it has also given me first-hand experiences as to the issues that inhibit the progression of teamwork among stakeholders to promote the highest quality education for all students. Therefore, I am confident that my desire to represent educators is authentic.
Joseph Howard's ability to build and maintain positive relational capacity among stakeholders will allow him to garner the support and trust from my colleagues to enact changes for a better school district and re-ignite the pride of all those who impact education.
My ability to build and maintain positive relational capacity among stakeholders will allow me to garner the support and trust from my colleagues to enact changes for a better school district and re-ignite the pride of all those who impact education. Changes such as the restoration and negotiation of salary steps in accordance with the Florida Statutes as well as a fair evaluation system will promote the message of respect and appreciation for the hard work and efforts within the schools. Most importantly, teachers must be able to teach in a classroom environment where instruction can be differentiated based on the needs of all students with smaller class sizes in accordance with state policies.
As president I will continue to use my strong work ethics, organization and planning skills to contribute to the goals and changes necessary to promote increased student achievement and to support those with direct impact.
